Harbin Summer Music Concert
Together with the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival and Guangzhou Yangcheng International Music Fair known as the Three Major Music Festival in China's, Harbin Summer Music Festival (aka Harbin Summer Music Concert) has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the government of Harbin City since 1961. Harbin City is known as one of the major concert centers in China and was recognized last month as a Music City by the United Nations.
Harbin is located in northern China, is a city with a unique cultural tradition, with a large number of foreign immigrants influx in early, the western musical culture also entered in Harbin. In the process of Eastern and Western culture interacting with each other, it has casted Harbin people’s character of liking music.
The first Harbin Summer Concert was opened on August 5, 1961 in Harbin Youth Palace. Since then, Harbin Summer Concert riding on the wings of song spread across the whole country. Harbin Summer Music Festival annually attracts a large number of music lovers, Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble participation from all over the world. Today, Harbin Summer Music Festival is of great significance to promote the development of national musical art.
