Australia E-Passport SmartGate

According to news reports in Australia, Australia's Minister of Immigration and Border Protection Scott Morrison announced on 29, October that Australia will further increase countries who can use the self-service passenger clearance SmartGate.

Currentlly, Canada and Ireland visitors holding electronic passports (ePassport) have allowed to use the SmartGate in the major international airports in Australia. 

Scott Morrison Stated that after the trial period for Canada and Ireland ended,there are eight countries who may try to use or permanent use the SmartGate, including citizens of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, USA, Switzerland and Singapore.

In addition, starting from next year,the e-passport holders of Chinese mainland, China Hong Kong and Japan will be able to try use the SmartGate.
