Mountain Resort and its Outlying Temples, Chengde
Mountain Resort is also known as Chengde Bleak Palace or the Jehol Palace, located in the northern center of Chengde City, Hebei Province, about 230 kilometers away from Beijing, is the place that the emperors of Qing Dynasty to prevent sunstroke in summer and dispose government affairs. It was founded in 1703, gone through three generations emperors of Qing Dynasty, Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong, and it took about 90 years to complete. It is the existing ancient imperial palaces cover an area of maximum in China.
